King Lear

by William Shakespeare
The Utah Shakespearean Festival 2007

Music by Joe Payne ©2007.

One of the few scores I have composed without any acid loops. All instruments performed using Gigastudio by Joe Payne. Set in pre-Christian Ireland, the stage consisted of a giant circular Rune, which broke apart as the world of Lear collapsed. The music was meant to invoke a rudimentary, undeveloped, pagan, dark Ireland. And of course Lear wouldn't be complete without a huge evolving storm, of which you will hear just a touch.
